Upcycle

Our mission is to reuse the limited resources that we already have. We want to prevent the waste of resources as much as possible, regardless of the state of things; clothes that are discarded due to downsize clothes, stains, marked, ripped or faded. Fast fashion eases our clothing choices; however, overproduction and consumption that is quickly meet customers' trendy demands, discarding them and a poor quality product that people have not wanted to keep for the long term.

So what happens to those clothes? - they are donated!

Is that the first thing you think about?

Here is another view: Donating clothing has a good and bad side; are the clothes suitable for someone else to wear, or are they in poor condition? The reality is that op shops get a lot of clothes they have to dump.

Please think before you donate your clothes!

Discarding or donating to someone is not only the solution. Why don't you create something new?

Our beliefs and focus are upcycled Furoshiki that minimises waste and environmental impact. Upcycle Furoshiki gives a new value to things that will be discarded and regenerates them. The reuse of limited resources is the main key to this activity!

Recreate a piece of fabric

Cut your non-necessary clothes, bed sheets, or any memorable items into a square shape and sew the edges that can be made into value-added Furoshiki. That will address your good habits and adopt a new change to sustain our future.

Furoshiki can be transformed into shopping bags, home decor, and emergency items, and it can carry any sort of items, as well as being used for gift wrapping!

How about the stains and marked clothes?

By dyeing worn clothes and fabrics, they are reborn as new pieces. This is our Shibori Dyed Furoshiki. Is it lovely?

Dyeing will reborn fabrics

People said only natural fibres such as cotton and silk are suitable for dyeing. But does it really matter? It may be hard to dye in the perfect colour, but any fabric can be dyed differently from other materials which will show their uniqueness.

FabWrap creates upcycle Furoshiki that is beautiful, sustainable and unique. We want to take care of the resources that are here now. What do you think of dyeing Furoshiki? Did you like it?

There are more different ways to use your used clothes or fabrics to remake something new.

Before you discard or donate things, please look carefully at your pre-loved items, and you may find a way to create something out of them.

We also have workshops on how to use Furoshiki and create your own Furoshiki to share ideas.
