In 2022, Ayumi founded FabWrap in Christchurch, New Zealand, driven by a passion for sustainability and the desire to rethink our everyday eco-lifestyle. In a world overwhelmed by single-use items, the challenge became clear: how can we enjoy the convenience of modern living while minimising our environmental impact? Ayumi became a Furoshiki tutor and taught Furoshiki techniques in communities, schools, and workshops to help people in Aotearoa embrace more sustainable practices.

By introducing Furoshiki wrapping techniques and creating accessories from pre-loved resources, we initiated a rethinking of traditional approaches to gifting and packaging.

Fumi, another creative mind, utilises off-cuts to enhance the beauty of new accessories. FabWrap aims to provide eco-friendly alternatives that celebrate creativity. Through innovative designs and sustainable materials, we inspire individuals to reconsider their habits, transforming the way we think about packaging and convenience in our daily lives.
